How to Work With Your Emotions

This talk describes how to work with your emotions in a way that creates greater harmony and inner freedom. Kriyananda clarifies what it means to truly live from our center and how we can work with our emotions in a way that creates a greater sense of harmony and inner freedom.

Kriyananda explains that there is a big difference between calm feeling and restless emotion. Emotions – both good and bad – keep us bound to duality and prevent us from seeing things as they really are. Calm feeling is a reflection of our true essence and has no opposite. Kriyananda explains that Patanjali’s aphorism, “Yoga is the neutralization of the waves of feeling,” when rightly understood, leads to the kind of inner joy and freedom that is unaffected by outer circumstance.

At the end of this talk there are three questions and answers that address common issues: how to know the difference between suppressing an emotion and transcending it; the appropriateness of frankness; how diet can affect our emotions.
