The New Year has come to greet you… Bring in the new year with joy!
Paramhansa Yogananda tells us that “Every day in the New Year must bring hope and cheer to yourself and all humanity.” In this day retreat, we’ll focus on Yogananda’s teachings on learning our lessons from the past. Then we’ll learn tools to use our will power to call on God’s grace to guide us forward. Let us invite the grace to purify our hearts and minds, and recharge with the dawning of the New Year.
Instrospective exercises will help us process major lessons and opportunities we had this year. We will also have guided inspirational and uplifting activities based on the teachings of Yogananda.

Meet the Presenters:

Nayaswami Jaya is co- spiritual director of Ananda Sangha India. He became a student of Swami Kriyananda soon after graduating from the University of California, Berkeley in 1968. Upon learning of Swami Kriyananda’s interest in spiritual communities, Nayaswami Jaya joined him as a founding member of Ananda. Nayaswami Jaya has been authorized by Swami Kriyananda to give initiation into the advanced meditation technique Kriya Yoga. He travels widely sharing the teachings and techniques of Paramhansa Yogananda with audiences throughout the world.

Baraquiel and Shamini live in Ananda Pune and have been sharing the principles of yoga & meditation in cities across India. Their current service entails building the offerings on Ananda India Online. Baraquiel also directs the choir and shares classes on the impact that music has in uplifting our consciousness. Shamini Naidu is also an art educator and Ananda Yoga teacher who shares the benefit of spiritual teachings applied through art-based workshops and activities.
