An Online Course with Nayaswami Jaya
There are some people in this world who seem to go through life as if in a bubble of joy while others are often seen with long faces, bent spines and a complaining attitude.
Do you see yourself as any of these? At times, perhaps? Does your level of inner joy and happiness depend on outward circumstances? There are secrets to happiness. And happiness is, in fact, a choice!
"If you do not choose to be happy no one can make you happy. Do not blame God for that! And if you choose to be happy, no one can make you unhappy. If He had not given us freedom to use our own will, we could blame Him when we are unhappy, but He did give us that freedom. It is we who make of life what it is."Paramhansa Yogananda

Nayaswami Jaya became a student of Swami Kriyananda soon after graduating from the University of California, Berkeley in 1968. Upon learning of Swami Kriyananda’s interest in spiritual communities, Nayaswami Jaya joined him as a founding member of Ananda Village, now one of the most successful such communities in the world.
At Swami Kriyananda’s request, he started traveling often throughout India since 2006, to help and guide leaders and devotees with their duties and spiritual growth. Nayaswami Jaya has been authorized by Swami Kriyananda to give initiation into the advanced meditation technique Kriya Yoga. He travels widely as an Ananda “Kriyacharya,” sharing the teachings and techniques of Paramhansa Yogananda with audiences throughout the world.
Nayaswami Jyotish shared this beautiful thought: The most important thing of all is to realize, I can choose! I can choose to be happy in all circumstances. I can choose to be loving regardless of how I am treated. I can choose to be calm and peaceful no matter what storms howl around me. Joy, love, peace, calmness are all different aspects of the Divine. By choosing these, we choose to swim in the sea of Divine Spirit.
In 1937 Yogananda wrote to his most advanced disciple, Rajarshi Janakananda, “I used to come home, my hair saturated with smoke and my eyes burning after luncheon talks. I felt even suffocated. One day I made up my mind, Divine Spirit was smoke and light, and I was never bothered since. Mind is everything, whichever way you train it.”
