Ananda Course in Self-Realization

      If you answered “Yes” to any one these questions, the on-line Lessons in Meditation course is especially for you.  It will introduce you, step by step, to the ancient tradition of meditation as originally taught by Paramhansa Yogananda, author of the spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi.  You will embark upon a journey of spiritual self-discovery and learn practical, time-tested techniques that have give proven results throughout the ages.  
 

Lessons in Meditation will teach you:

  • The principles and techniques of meditation.
  • How to concentrate and internalize the mind.
  • Step by step weekly routines for practice.
  • How to reduce stress and relax the body, mind and emotions.
  • How to have more energy in life.
  • How to find practical solutions to daily problems through an awakened intuition
  • How to gain mental clarity and better physical, emotional and mental health
  • To awaken to inner joy

   Lessons in Meditation is the first part of the Ananda Course in Self Realization, a comprehensive study of the science of yoga that has helped thousands worldwide and the core curriculum taught by Ananda Sangha. The techniques offered are non-sectarian and universally applicable to students of all spiritual traditions.  They will give you practical tools to improve your daily life, help you to concentrate, awaken your intuition, and to bring you inner peace, health, energy and happiness. 

   Each lesson has a section for theory, techniques, daily routines, “Do This Today” recommendations, and a list of additional resources available to you for downloading onto your computer. 

   Each week you will be able to download one six to ten page lesson from the internet for your personal study.  You can, of course, proceed more slowly if you wish.   
 

The Complete Ananda Course consists of four parts:

      Level 1:  Lessons in Meditation will teach you the basic techniques of meditation and “energization” of the body as originally taught by Paramhansa Yogananda. The lessons include all material presented at Level 1 workshops in India by Ananda Acharyas.  

      Level 2 is an exploration of the science of yoga, using The Art and Science of Raja Yoga: 14 Steps to Higher Awareness by Swami Kriyananda as the course workbook.  At the conclusion of the Level 1 Lessons, you will be given instructions on how to proceed to Level 2. 

      Level 3, Discipleship, introduces the topic of the guru-disciple relationship and is intended for those students who wish become disciples of Paramhansa Yogananda.  Instructions are provided at the conclusion of Level 2 or you may write for further information. 

      Level 4, Kriya Preparation, prepares qualified students for initiation into Paramhansa Yogananda’s most advanced technique, Kriya Yoga, described by him as the “jet airplane” route to God.   Levels 1 – 3 are pre-requisites for this step. Please write for further information.

      Ananda Sangha was founded to share these teachings of meditation and Kriya Yoga with sincere, truth seeking souls. The eight on-line Lessons in Meditation are offered to you on a “donation basis.” Please help us meet our costs and share these teachings with a wider audience by sending a contribution to Ananda Sangha as directed in the introductory lesson.    

      The Ananda Course is designed to allow you to make rapid spiritual progress but it requires energy and effort on your part.  For serious students, meditation will give an actual experience of what is spoken about in scripture and spiritual literature, but even a little practice will bring life-changing results. However, these will not come by mere reading and intellectual study.  Regular practice is necessary in order to provide a living laboratory in which the truths of these teachings can be tested and proved.
